Sweet, or aromatic, pipe tobaccos are so popular that they make up roughly 80 percent of total pipe tobacco sales at City Cigar. Unlike savoury blends, they don’t contain spicy or smoky tobacco varieties like Latakia, Oriental and Perique, and unlike pure Virginia they will usually be subject to specific flavouring agents via casing and top-flavouring.
Casing is a routine process for aromatics, involving the marination of tobaccos in substances like sugar, molasses, honey, extracts, and alcoholic spirits. Top-flavouring, on the other hand, doesn’t apply to all aromatics as it involves spraying specific flavoring onto the leaf to make it taste like a recognizable sweet substance, eg, vanilla or cherry.

Georgia Burley
Kentucky grown Burley is the main element in this blend. Black Cavendish is added to create a medium to slow burning mixture with a mildness and sweet aroma that is pleasing to all.

A superior and delightfully aromatic Black Cavendish. This is a blend of select Virginia and Burley heat-treated, bulk cured and aged to create an unusually mild smoke.

A great Danish formula made from Green River Black Cavendish and Virginia tobaccos. Each has been stored and fermented individually before the final hand blending of six different cuts. The teasing aroma of Hickory Nuts adds character to this unique blend.
