By 2014, Roberto Duran had started to make a name for himself by producing high-quality, budget-priced Nicaraguan cigars. He first resurrected the Azan brand, followed by various series under his own name. This includes the Baracoa line, which is named for the area on Cuba’s eastern shore where Duran once lived.
The Baracoa series includes 9 vitolas, each made with a Nicaraguan binder and filler, and wrapped in an Ecuadorian Habana Criollo leaf. The Baracoa was designed as an ideal ‘every day’ cigar, with enough strength to satisfy the regular smoker, yet smooth enough for a novice. And they’re set at a price point that will entice any smoker, regardless of budget.
