Gurkha Cigars

Product Description

One of the newest brands out of Honduras since it’s modern inception in 1989, the Gurkha was brought to fame by Nepalese entrepreneur Kaizad Hansotia. His heritage inspired his admiration for the soldiers that eventually lent the Gurkha brand its name.

Much like the Khukuri – the forward-curving knife closely associated with the Gurkhas – this cigar brand has the reputation of being bold and distinct. With series’ names like ‘The Assassin’, ‘The Evil’, ‘The Black Dragon’ and the ‘Ancient Warrior’, it is certainly a brand that tends to stick in the memory.

In fact, Gurkha is so distinct that they boast the creation of the most expensive cigar in the world. The HMR, or ‘His Majesty’s Reserve’, is made with 18-year tobacco and infused with Louis XIII de Rémy Martin cognac. This luxurious combination allows a box of 20 sticks to fetch about $15,000, with only 60-80 boxes made each year.
