H. Upmann Cuban Cigars
Mostly a milder Cuban cigar, tends to get peppery the bigger you go.
One of the oldest brands out of Cuba.
Herman Upmann was a banker from Germany who so loved Cuban cigars that he moved to Havana in 1844 and set up as both banker and Cuban cigar maker. His bank closed in the early 1920s but his Cuban cigars live on as a fine example of an elegant light to medium-flavoured Habano.
All the leaf in H. Upmann is from the Vuelta Abajo tobacco region.
Gold medals in no less than eleven international
exhibitions during the 19th Century adorn the box — as does Herr
Upmann’s personal signature.
The brand today comprises a wide range of "totalmente a mano, tripa larga" - totally hand made, long filler.
