International Pipe Smoking Day & Carving Competition

Pipe Carving contest

Every once in a while we like to show appreciation for our many pipe clients. And there’s no better time to do that than on International Pipe Smoking Day! This year, IPSD falls on a Friday, so we’ll be nudging our own celebration to the nearest weekend day, Saturday February 21st. On this day, we encourage you to bring your pipe in, as we’ll be partnering with Brigham Enterprises to fill bowls from morning to night. Don’t have a pipe but are thinking of getting one? We’ll be offering sale prices on pipes that day too!

February 21st also marks the inaugural day of the 2015 Pipe Carving Competition. Have you ever wanted to design your own pipe and show off your skills with a carving knife? This will be right up your alley!

All you need to do is purchase an uncarved block of briar from us, which covers the $49.95 entry fee. Then take it home and start working on your masterpiece! You can use any method you like to accomplish this, and your design can be original or inspired by an existing pipe. Just make sure that the pipe is 100% smokable before submitting.

You have the chance to win in one of two categories: Best Overall Pipe or Most Creative Pipe. You are able to enter up to two pipes for consideration, but can only win in a single category. All entries must be submitted back to us at City Cigar by 6:00 pm on Saturday, April 4th. A package of prizes will be awarded to the winners in each category on Sunday, April 5th. More details will be released on the prize package as the contest date approaches.

Winning entries will also be eligible to compete in the Brigham National Competition, which takes place on April 20th. And this competition, which will feature the best carved pipes from across country, features a prize package worth over $300 to the winner!
