Ahh, October is here, and for the cigar aficionado that means one thing: new arrivals from Cuba!

In 2012, there are a wealth of new Cuban choices. Besides the 3 limited editions for the year, we have also received a new LCDH release (the Hoyo de Monterrey Epicure Deluxe), a new size within the Romeo ‘Churchill’ series (the Petit Churchill), and an entirely new shape & size from Cohiba (the Piramides Extra).

Here is a closer look at the 6 new Cuban cigars for 2012:

Montecristo 520 Limited Edition:
Montecristo 520, whose factory name is Maravillas No. 3 (55 mm ring gauge and 6.1″ in length), is produced for the first time in Habanos for this Limited Edition. This size provides all the aroma and taste of Montecristo´s classic blend, with its characteristic Medium to full Flavour. Made with the finest tobacco leaves coming from Vuelta Abajo region of Cuba, aged no less than 2 years.

H. Upmann Robustos Limited Edition:
The Robustos size (50mm x 4.9″) does not exist in the permanent range of H. Upmann, but it had a great acceptance when launched in an exclusive Travel humidor at Cannes Fair in 2008. Made with the finest tobacco leaves coming from Vuelta Abajo region of Cuba, aged no less than 2 years.

Partagás Series C No.3 Limited Edition:
The Series C No.3 ( 48mm x 5.5″) is the vitola selected in Partagás brand for this 2012 Limited Edition,   offering within the Series of the brand another choice for those who enjoy Partagás’ intense flavours and inimitable aroma. Made with the finest tobacco leaves coming from Vuelta Abajo region of Cuba, aged no less than 2 years.

Cohiba Pirámides Extra
The Pirámides Extra is the first figurado that will become a part of the permanent Cohiba collection, as a part of the Línea Clásica. Comprised of medium – full flavour Volado, Secoand Ligero leaves, with the latter two types undergoing the additional fermentation that is unique to the Cohiba brand.

Hoyo De Monterrey Epicure Deluxe (LCDH Series)
The newest addition to Hoyo’s popular Epicure line, the Epicure Deluxe measures at 52mm by 4.5″ and is produced as part of the La Casa del Habano series. The flavour of Hoyo de Monterrey’s blend makes it an attractive choice for those who seek a delicate yet aromatic Habano that is lighter to the taste but with great elegance and complexity.

Romeo Y Julieta Petit Churchill
The new Romeo y Julieta Petit Churchills vitola was designed to complement the current Romeo y Julieta range by adding a size (50mm x 4″) that is highly appreciated in recent years by Habanos enthusiasts. This petit robusto allows the smoker to enjoy the balanced and aromatic flavour of Romeo Y Julieta in just 20-30 minutes.
